Alright, so after ages and one last false OC update tomorrow/tonight, the final OC update is done, and I’ll be organizing every character into their roles for the game.
For now, let’s just take a look at the OCs.
(No Name)
This griffin’s an expert in pyrotechnics, mostly bombs. I can see him working for Czar, supplying the party the bombs for free occasionally, and acting as a shop keeper especially meant for them. With a role like this, he might even get some influence on the plot, because well, being good at blowing stuff up is good in war.Gentle Mirage
A chill and somewhat lazy unicorn, Gentle Mirage is a kind pony, always looking out for others, but is questionable in his actions. See, he’s an illusionist, which he normally uses his abilities to put on shows, lately, he hasn’t had much luck. Because of this, he has began using his powers to help him steal from others, but with one rule, he only steals from bad guys. I think he may be one of those characters who’s given two different perspectives, one from a stranger, and one from someone who knows him.Adustio Praetorii
The character who’s name I’ll probably misspell a thousand times. There’s not much to him, he’s big and intimidating, perfect as a bodyguard, and I know just who to have him guarding. Two things about him are notable, first is that he doesn’t talk much, unless it’s about cookies or other sweets, then it’s hard to shut him up. Second, I was given the magic words, to quote from the submission, “(you are allowed to do what ever you what to do with him :) )”, oh I’m making use of those words, I’m making very good use of them, heh heh heh.Cobalt Shimmer
An illusionist and actor from Ponyville, Cobalt is a b-rate actor, well known in Equestria, unknown outside the kingdom. Talented at playing any role, he can be anyone, unless it involves using magic, something he never studied thoroughly. This is an easy character to incorporate, simply, he’s trying to get his name out, and was setting up a huge production in Albatross for a certain foreign senator I can’t reveal just yet. The never ending winter hits, destroys most of his equipment, he’s now trapped in Albatross, and later the party meets him and he provides a sidequest.Forest Skies
Forest is a loner, but still a very friendly griffin. He mostly keeps to himself, but if he needs to, he’ll speak up. He also wears glasses when he’s with friends. I think we may have found our messenger for Zecora’s story.Khan
Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!
I’m sorry, but you knew that was going to happen. Anyways, Khan is part bat, part pony, and I don’t want to know how that happened, I just hope it was the pony that gave birth to him. Khan is an easily angered pegasus, who can’t take a joke. Despite this, deep down, he’s a good guy. He also can… give you the pregnancy… with his pregoraptor?.. You have to see it for yourself, I’m not sure if this is awesome or just kind of scary. Also, why does this Necro Mortem guy keep showing up here!?Pure Hue
This helpful pony is always there to be your friend. Social and a little eccentric, she likes to laugh and have a good time, but can snap into a frightening psychopath under the right conditions. She also likes tea and mustard, but hopefully not together. She just sounds like a great NCP to talk to. Not one that moves the story, but rather one that helps build the world. I’ll make sure she’s easy to find.Ratscallions
Alright people, this might be one of the funniest characters to have been submitted. You know how in every other RPG you start off fighting weak enemies like rats and slimes? Well Ratscallions is sick of that! Taking up only his sword, shield and chivalrous code, he rides into battle upon his noble steed, the slime, to avenge his fallen brethren. He will travel, day and night to find the heroes responsible for the slaughter of his fami- rats and slimes aren’t even enemies in the game. You don’t fight them early on, you don’t fight them later. You will never fight a rat or a slime (unless you count the smoozes), ever. Well that was anti-climatic, what will our rodent hero do now? Find out on the next update…Steaming Water
Steaming Water runs a spa near Neighagra Falls (the Equestrian equivelent) and got his cutiemark after taking over after his father. While a sweet pony, he lacks the guts to talk to a certain mare in town. Runs a spa? Perfect for the part Cobalt appears in. It’s simple, said senator wanted a nice bath for his visit, and Steaming was hired to provide it. He also gets trapped in Albatross, and unfortunately meets a certain characters who give him really bad advise. Hilarity ensues. The Ancient
This spirit from a lost kingdom who refused to move on. He now wanders the land, watching events unfold and awaiting his time to return to the battlefield. I’m just going to say this, I’m not talking about this guy much, but I can’t say why. Let’s just say the ancient found his place in the story.Unknown (literally her name)
Unknown is an apparition from a nightmare Derpy had when she was just a filly, but somehow escaped the dream world and became a physical being. Acting as a super villain, she uses her strange powers to wreck havoc on the population, like turning muffins into monsters. Maybe she just needs some sort of good influence in her life. Unknown sounds like one of the weirdos La Tormenta has met and fought (he’s had a strange super hero career), and the kind of character to just show up, antagonize Derpy a little and leave. She’s the kind of character who’s very dangerous, but hard to take seriously.
By the way, Derpy’s nightmare was of Unknown stealing her muffins. That fiend.Delicate Amentia and Sorin Sky
These two are both the daughters of Necro Mortem (there he is again), with different mothers, Pure Hue and Aria Demure, from an alternate universe. Due to their parents both being too young to have children that old, these two aren’t part of the Lost Kingdom universe, but rather part of another part of the game. Can’t describe too much about it, besides it takes place in another realm and is both one giant parody of the brony community and one of the most dramatic moments in the game. Many revelations to be had in that chapter.-
Well there you go, the OC updates are done, from now on, I’ll be running a series of retrospective posts, revealing the positions each character has. Each post will include a different position, including:
- Crowd Filler - mostly the OCs sent in by people who had already sent in many. In short, these are the characters in the crowd, and often found help captive. If you only submitted one or two, don’t expect to see any of your characters here, unless I was given no information on them at all.
- NCP - all the OCs that have interesting backgrounds, and provide good world building conversations. Scattered across the entire game, some might be a little strangely place, but that’s mostly because the game mostly takes place in Albatross, not Equestria.
- Extra - basically, these guys come in, have a line, and might do the heroes a favor or too. Often doubling up as NCPs, they play very small roles, but someone had to tell Zecora about trouble in Ponyville, right?
- Minor Character - kind of an extension of the extra role, minor characters just fit into the story too well, and will have more of an impact on the plot. Whether it be a trio of changelings helping a con artist, or someone who can show up at an inappropriate time to deliver the punchline. Most Minor characters work for Czar and Luna, as part of their makeshift HQ, and provide something to the team.
- Assist Character - 9 spots open for these guys, the assist characters may be anyone from NCP to minor character. After meeting some conditions, these characters join the party, and can assist in battle.
- Playable Character - The four I see as the most well rounded in terms of moveset potential, story influence, and character interaction. These character will have deep impact on the story, but remain in the supporting cast category (aka, the playable cast excluding the Mane Party, Czar, Luna and sub-party leaders). Unfortunately, due to pacing issues, they will not be playable in episode 1… But they all show up in episode 2!
- Conductor’s Rivals - While I’m not going to list this, due to wanting to keep some surprises, but some OC of any position may encounter the Conductor during his quest to stop the Mane Party. These scenes will all be optional, but provide comical or heartwarming moments, exploring both a part of the star OC and the Condutor’s personalities a bit more.
Now if you don’t mind me, I’m going to bed, I’ll check my grammar in the morning, probably misspelled that Adustio guy’s name.
That’s all for now, thank you for your time.
